New York Entertainment Lawyer John J. Tormey
III - John J. Tormey III, PLLC
My name is John J. Tormey III. I am a New York lawyer, also admitted
to practice in California and the District of Columbia. I have a general
commercial law practice, with a focus on entertainment,
art, media, intellectual property (copyright
and trademark), limited liability company law, and music A&R
(Artist & Repertoire) matters. Active
matters for my New York law practice include film;
music; television; publishing;
new business start-ups (these days oft-characterized by the creation
and filing of a limited liability company and the drafting of an LLC
operating agreement); life-story rights and other rights
matters; other contract drafting and negotiation; Internet and computer
affairs; and other transactional, employment,
and corporate work. As a music lawyer, film lawyer, television lawyer,
and entertainment attorney
generally, I also provide legal services to assist
artists and others in their endeavors to submit and place their
material with professional entertainment, publishing,
and media industry recipients - including film, music, and television
projects. I formerly served as Counsel to The Walt Disney Company, and
Senior Counsel and Senior Litigation Counsel to Miramax Films. My experience
includes music law, motion pictures, production counsel, life-story
rights, television, intellectual property (copyright and trademark),
art, radio, animation, merchandising, licensing, publishing, advertising,
marketing and publicity, casting, photography, modeling, interactive
media, and wills and estates.
